Our Educational Philosophy: |
Maintaining our focus on healthy spiritual growth and taking into account the whole student, at Tomer Devorah
a large emphasis is placed on nurturing strong internal character
development. Both in the classroom and out, our students will
receive warm guidance and encouragement in their self development.
We all realize that a student’s year in Israel is a seminal time in
her life. |
|
Impressing upon students at this formative juncture the pr imacy and importance
of middot tovot and proper character traits leaves a lasting impression. Part of
empowering a student to make real life decisions wisely is imparting to her the
central role the Torah places on middot in a maturing and flourishing young
woman.
In addition to our core curriculum, which includes classes
on the importance and understanding of middot and the
mitzvot bein adam lichaveiro, extracurricular activities
will focus on this essential area of growth as well.
Shabbatonim throughout the year will focus, one by one, on
particular middot that make up a whole, healthy student and
Jew.

Outside of regular courses and activities, Tomer Devorah
conducts Yimei Iyun workshops dedicated to personal
development and growth. Prominent guest lecturers from
various fields of expertise will engage our students in
exciting discussions and programs focusing on communication
skills, interpersonal relationships, positive thinking and
other essential real-life skills.
